3 Hour

Cultural diversity is discussed, including the definitions of culture and diversity. Participants will gain knowledge on the importance of cultural competency, cultural awareness and its application to prevention. 
Objectives are:
1) Understand what culture is and why it is important
2) Understand cultural competence and why it is importance
3) Apply cultural competence and awareness to the prevention field and how to enhance current skills.
